ABOUT THE BIG HOLE RIVER FOUNDATION
Protect. Conserve. Enhance.
Our Mission
The Big Hole River Foundation’s mission is to protect, conserve, and enhance the free-flowing Big Hole River and its unique culture, fisheries, and wildlife.
The Big Hole River valley encompasses 2,800-square miles of free-flowing, blue-ribbon trout streams, several mountain ranges, and many plant and animal species-of-concern, including the last remaining population of stream-dwelling Arctic grayling found in the Lower 48 United States.
While a picturesque Rocky Mountain river valley, the Big Hole is affected by nutrient pollution, warming temperatures, development, noxious weeds, wildfires, and socioeconomic change.
With a priority focus on collecting water quality data, BHRF works with local, state, and federal agencies, sportsmen groups, businesses, landowners, nonprofits, and recreationists to support smart, strategically focused conservation and restoration efforts.
We have a lot of work to do and with your help, we can conserve this rare and beautiful resource for future generations.
This river is one-of-a-kind.
Help Us Protect It.
